Thankyou for visiting my site and welcome to my blog!
I have decided to quit my job and pursue a long time dream to become an Alpine ski racer and be selected onto the British Parasnowsport ski team in hope of one day representing Great Britain in IPC (International Paralympic Committee) alpine ski events across the world! I will be documenting my experiences to keep you update on where my journey has taken me as I pursue my dream!
If you’d like to know more about me, my accident which resulted in me becoming a incomplete paraplegic and how I found adaptive skiing please click here.
As you can see from the photo, my journey starts with me leaving my job as a Business Analyst working for Motability Operations Ltd having spent over the last 6 years working there. Having skied recreationally for the last few years with friends and family I have saved up enough money to fund my winter ski season and signed up with the NSCD (National Sports Center for Disabled) Competition Center in Winter Park, Colorado for two months full time race training before returning to Europe to complete in a number of IPCAS Alpine Ski events at the end of March with a hope to being recognised and selected onto the British Parasnowsport Development Team at the end of the season.
However, before I fly to Colorado at the end of December I am firstly heading to SnowWorld in Landgraaf, Holland to be classified (which will allow me to compete in competitions) and then entering my first Slalom races the following day!
Fingers crossed it goes well!
